Recurring dream that I am packing my suitcase!

A B D E F G J K L M O P R U V X Y Z

I've been dreaming constantly about packing luggage.

This is quite simple to translate, you obviously want or need changes to happen in your life, you keep planning to make changes but are unable to see them through. So you begin the process again at another time.

Luggage symbolises travel of course, but is also used as a symbol when you start something new, a new phase of life or a new and exciting journey.
Packing luggage is also used to describe the process of packing up your troubles and moving on from them.
An overpacked suitcase represents the idea of putting too much pressure into something that is already over-filled. You are doing too much and need to release some pressure before you explode. Stop trying to be everything for everyone. Consider what you are putting in the suitcase, clothes represent the character that you show to other people. Or the character you create for the people around you.
Changing your clothes is a representation of who you are 'trying' to be for everyone else, in contrast to who you really are.
An empty suitcase can describe the emptiness you feel inside.

I have also known a case to be used as a symbol for a court case. The symbolism of an empty case can easily explain a situation where there is not enough evidence. Or the other way round of course and the bulging case can deliver the message of lots of evidence.

Luggage:
Travel
A fresh start!
Pastures new!
Change!
Carrying your problems around with you?
You want to leave a situation behind!
You want to move on!
Escape!
Baggage!
A desire for freedom!
Pack up your troubles!

Recurring dreams happen when:
You haven’t achieved what is needed!
You haven’t learned exactly what you were supposed to learn!
You have not moved on from something!
You haven’t understood the real meaning of the dream!
You keep making the same mistakes!
You ignore something!

Dream about a fridge on fire

A B D E F G J K L M O P R U V X Y Z

I had a dream last night and it seemed very real to me. I was going to my father’s flat. I opened the door and I feared that a fire could be in the flat. I saw a light when I opened the door. It was like something about to get on fire. It was the fridge. I didn't switch the lights on, fearing the flat may explode. I opened the fridge’s door. It was hot and some smoke came out of it. Then I opened the freezer’s door. It wasn't too hot and there was food inside still frozen.
Then I went to my father’s room who was sleeping (as expected at that time of the night. (That’s why I say it was very real to me) I turned on the light and woke him up to warn him. He woke up and was looking very young and slim (He is 74 actually) with a brown leather jacket. We went to see the fridge and we found out that I left it on +3 temperature. We put it back to normal temperature and I told him to go back to sleep.

I feel that the dream you had was a form of astral travelling whereby you visited your dad while he and you both slept. (Your soul/spirit visited him) The reason for your visit to him might be because you have some concerns for him, you were checking up on him to make sure he was alright, and as you suspected things were not safe. This doesn't necessarily mean that things are not safe in his flat (always worth checking though) more likely that in your opinion he doesn't take care of himself properly.

Looking at the symbols and scenario of the dream backs this up:
The fear of an explosion when the lights are turned on is a way of expressing the fear that you have when if light (knowledge) is known, a situation might explode into something bigger, in which case you will then have to deal with it. Perhaps you fear that if you look too closely at your dad, his health, and his ability to take care of himself properly you might then have to deal with the consequences of that.

The fridge symbolises coldness or neglect, and this backs up the idea that maybe he neglects himself to some degree.
The freezer is a way of expressing the idea that something is frozen in time, food is being kept in a state of rigidness, food equals sustenance/fulfilment and might symbolise aspects of your dad's situation, perhaps he isn’t feeling particularly satisfied with his own situation but lacks the inclination to do anything about it.

The fact that the appliance is a cold store appliance but is overheating can help to explain how the situation he is in at present is beginning to become more of a problem, it needs action from someone else to find a cure or remedy, you seem to be that person and it might mean a bit of practical help to ensure things are safe at home or emotional support to encourage him into finding new interests, or taking care of his health. It's hard to say what support he needs without knowing the whole situation but I am sure with some delving you can work out what he needs. After all your dream was designed to bring your attention to your dad’s vulnerabilities.

The end of your dream gives an example of the fact that with a little effort and care things will return to normal and he will return to his usual vibrant self. If I were you I would encourage him not to leave things or put them off. Tell him it’s easier to deal with small problems when they arise, if something is left for too long it will escalate into a bigger problem.

I dreamed of black smoke coming out of my fridge.
The top of the fridge seemed like it had boiling metal at the center. When I decided to unplug it, the glass door was broken and I tried to cover it with plastic food wrapping to preserve the coolness of the frozen meat inside.

A fridge is often used to describe the idea of preservation in dream language, water is always used to represent the emotions and in this case, the boiling metal would symbolise emotions that become overheated and could boil over. Boiling metal in the place of boiling water would suggest that emotions have been hard and unmoving for quite some time, they have been cold, rigid, and uncaring. Whose emotions are being highlighted, is it yours or your partners or both?
It could also be symbolic for someone else with who you haven't had a good relationship with.
The black smoke represents when something could ignite, black meaning negative and depression possibly. Unplugging the fridge is a way of showing you that you are attempting to disconnect from a situation that has the capability to cause you problems, or explode in your face. Covering it over with the plastic food covering describes your menial attempts at repairing the situation. You cant keep 'covering up and smoothing things over, wishing everything would just go back to normal because you don't wish to deal with it.
In a nutshell, it looks like you are trying to preserve a relationship that hasn't been very fulfilling for you both, the coldness and the frozen meat help to explain that. If you want to really preserve a relationship and not let deterioration continue then you have to really work hard, and instead of covering things up and smoothing things over you will have to be honest with yourself and the other person, so you can really start afresh. That means talking calmly and honestly, without emotional outbursts, sometimes we need help from the outside for this to be able to happen.

Disaster Dream

A B D E F G J K L M O P R U V X Y Z

My dream was like a film playing out, there was going to be a nuclear bomb going off and I had to try and get everyone together and I was trying to get my girlfriend to come with me as well. I think we were going to a space ship which was landing to rescue us.
I told my girlfriend to get on the space ship but she wouldn't, she said: “No I have to help other people as well”.
Then the ground cracked beneath us and I was getting really frustrated that my girlfriend wouldn’t get on the space ship.
We both started running around trying to find somewhere safe but there were looters and muggers everywhere and I just wanted to find somewhere safe to go. We ended up on the top of a hill looking at the sky and then we said I love you. Then we saw a plane crash and I woke up with a jolt.

Disaster dreams very rarely predict global disaster events but often help to explain what the dreamer would view as a personal disaster. From looking at the dream contents and at the other symbols and dominant characters in the dream, i.e. your girlfriend, it isn't too difficult to work out what you deem as a possible disaster in the waiting.

Let me explain:
Your dream suggests that you feel as though you have to protect everyone from any eventuality, even things that haven’t happened yet and also things that are out of your control. Bombs are usually symbolic of explosive situations that can change the way your life is set up, this will link with the fear dream scenario where you have to learn to face your fears. It would seem that your biggest fear is about things going wrong; you would see this as a disaster because you want everything to run smoothly and stay the same. (Fear of change)

The spaceship providing the escape route is a way for you to acknowledge that when things do go wrong you either expect a 'way-out' to turn up and rescue you or perhaps you view the rescue source as a ridiculous notion and have always rescued yourself when times are tough, its hard for me to say but you will know which fits better. You also want everyone to go along with your plans and ideas because you feel it is the best thing for them, perhaps you get frustrated when they have other ideas. Spaceships also represent the unknown and feature when you do not really know what is going to happen next and also when you have to deal with the uncharted areas of life or relationships. It's all a bit alien to you.

In your dream, you want to protect everyone but your girlfriend is telling you she sees herself as the person who looks after other people and perhaps she is letting you know that you do not need to look after her. This in itself would be viewed as a disaster to you because her ideas might clash with your ideas about who does the looking after in a relationship.

In the dream, your girlfriend will not allow you to protect her and insists on helping everyone else
. Perhaps you are coming to terms with having to allow your relationship to find its own level footing, a new balance that you haven’t had to find before. You are very similar characters and this is what might cause the cracked ground in the foundations of your relationship, as described in your dream.

The hill is symbolic of the uphill struggle that it feels like, trying to get two strong personalities (who want to be in control) to find balance and a sturdy ground base. Because you tell each other that you love each other even though you have all this going on, it means that you both want to find a way to make the relationship work because after all, that’s what you have to do when you love someone.

A plane crash helps to describe how hopes and dreams can come crashing down, this is a typical symbolic gesture of your situation because as relationships develop from what you expect in comparison to what you actually get, your ideas and dreams quickly come back down to earth.

Relationships are hard work to maintain and to keep 'flight' you must work together to do this. Of course, you both have differences as well as your similarities, you both have your own way of doing things, but this doesn't mean you cannot find a level ground that works, you need to meet halfway, somewhere in the middle to create balance and harmony within a relationship and of course love is the perfect reason to do this.
